Windows 8 keeps BSOD when using P2P and surfing net

    Hello everyone,

I keep receiving BSODs when i am using utorrent or just surfing net. I have tried everything to avoid these BSOD but fail.

I have tried the disk scan which shows me no error

The ram test with 500% without error

Using SlimDrivers which shows me my driver is the latest

Run the Intelburntest without any error

Monitering the temperature, all are below 30 degree

I even fully reinstalled the OS for 2times

But I just receive BSOD when I am lightly use the computer(utorrent+surfing net). However, when I am heavily use it, it doesn't appear any BSODs(playing WOW+watching films).

Here is my recent minidump. Your help is appreciated.\

    Hi,

    Please update your Ethernet drivers:

    Rt630x64.sys Thu Oct 25 10:14:58 2012:

    Realtek

You'll see the win 8 driver about half way down the list.

If the issue persists try disabling the Eset firewall if you have that running.

Re: Windows 8 keeps BSOD when using P2P and surfing net

OOPS!!! I didn't see you there kemical!
    teng1984 - please follow kemical's advice first.

Your BIOS dates from 2010. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

E: drive has about 8% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on all hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

We've seen a number of BSOD issues with SSD's. Here's the information that I've compiled so far:
There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

    Here's some suggestions:
    - Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
    - Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website)
    - Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
    - Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
    - Update chipset and storage controller drivers to the latest available from the manufacturer of the device (not the manufacturer of the motherboard). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard!
....NOTE: Recently (Nov 2011) we had BSOD issues with the Marvell 91xx controller and an SSD. You may have to switch controllers also.
    - Replace the SSD with a platter based hard drive and see if that stops the BSOD's. If it does, then it's likely that there's a problem with the SSD OR an incompatibility with your system.
It's my opinion that SSD's aren't reliable enough (with current hardware) to be used on a system that needs to work reliably. Until I see reliability I will not recommend, nor will I use, SSD's for critical applications.
06 Dec 2011 - This post tends to confirm issues with certain SSD chipsets and certain controllers - [SOLVED] cant find the cause of BSOD F4 - Tech Support Forum
29 May 2012 - The frequency of BSOD's with SSD's seems to have been decreasing over the last several months. It may be approaching time to re-evaluate my stand on their suitability for use in production systems.
10 Nov 2012 - I'm seeing an upswing in SSD errors - but most appear due to older storage controller drivers. I strongly suggest NOT using storage controller drivers that don't date from 2012 (if none are available, don't connect an SSD to that controller)
05 Jan 2013 - very interesting post about difficulties with the Marvell controllers even when not connected to the SSD drives: https://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...tml#post169956
    This device is disabled:
NVIDIA High Definition Audio HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10DE&DEV_0041&SUBSYS_14622805& REV_1001\5&26DCEE2B&0&0001 This device is disabled.
Is this deliberate? If so, why?

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems.
Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

I noticed that you've updated your networking drivers (Rt630x64.sys) over the last couple of days. There are a lot of networking issues pointed at in the memory dumps - so I'd suggest checking for updates on any networking-aware programs (such as uTorrent, ESET or TuneUp Utilities).

Post back if the BSOD's continue after all of this.

Re: Windows 8 keeps BSOD when using P2P and surfing net

Thank you usasma and kemical for spending time to reply.

    To reply kemical:

I have downloaded Rt630x64.sys from Realtek yesterday, but BSOD persist

    To reply usasma:

I updated the ssd firmware one week ago, and I have downloaded the CrystaldiskInfo, which show me 100% health
and I will reduce the driver E to let it have at lease 15% free space.

I have totally uninstalled AMD OverDrive in control panel.

I deliberately disabled NVIDIA High Definition Audio drive because I have seen this drive may cause BSOD in other forum. And I don't need to use it right?

I have downloaded and installed the following drives from the link you give me

    ALSysIO64.sys Sat Jul 9 20:27:45 2011 (4E18F201)
Core Temp - CPU temperature monitor
The site in the link about core temp is also V1.0 RC4 which is the same as I used before, and I have re installed it.

    RTCore64.sys Tue Sep 6 08:24:50 2011 (4E661112)
    RivaTuner/EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner (known BSOD issues w/Win7)
The link you give me direct to rivatuner's site and I have installed it

and I have uninstalled uTorrent and ESET which i use Windows Defender instead.

Is there anything that I miss?

If there are any error I will report back

Please excuse the extra posts that don't appear to relate to your issues - I was explaining some things to others and forgot to delete them.

You have done well and now we have to wait and see if the BSOD's return.
If they do, I will ask 2 things:
    - run hardware diagnostics (free from here: http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html
    - run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

DO NOT run Verifier until after we see the new memory dumps. You can start the hardware diagnostics now if you'd like to save time. Please let us know the results if you do start them.

Re: Windows 8 keeps BSOD when using P2P and surfing net

OK, after 10 hours of testing, 4 to 5 BSODs occur
the last 2 mini dumps are the latest which I uninstall about every promgramme that I usually used.

I have run the ram test and hard disk test without error.
I have changed the ram slot, and changed the ram one by one
I have run intelburntest without error
I have run video memory test without error

I have found that after some reboot of the system, the computer may totally turn off which I cannot turn it on at the front of the case, unless I turn off the main power switcher of my PSU at the back and wait for about 10 second, then turn on the PSU, turn on the the front case switcher.

Is it the PSU's problem which causing the BSODs? Since I have found that the BSOD's only happens when I lightly used it(surfing net for news), It never happen when I heavily used it.(PC games, Videos). However, these BSODs had only occurred after I installed windows 8

I will run verifier, after this reply.

Power Supply Unit (PSU) Mfr. AYWUN
    Wattage: 550W

I had the same problem and it turned out to be a power surge. I don't know if that is your problem but might be a start. I don't know why but once I switched outlets to plug into, I haven't had anymore problems.

Re: Windows 8 keeps BSOD when using P2P and surfing net

AMD Overdrive and MSI Afterburner are still installed.
I believe that my instructions were a bit confusing.
DO NOT run Driver Verifier yet - wait after performing the steps below.

Please un-install Core Temp and MSI Afterburner (DO NOT reinstall until we're finished troubleshooting)
Please remove AMD Overdrive this way:

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.
Have you run Prime95? If so, did you get any errors?
Do you have some parts that you can remove from the system in order to decrease the demand on the PSU? By trying that you may find that the BSOD's do not happen as frequently. Try removing some fans, extra hard drives, unused add-on cards, etc.
