I suggest a like button and a dislike button.
Awesome! Pokémon HG & SS is out! Now I have enough time to be patient for Win 8 Alpha/Beta to come out! lol.

I would think windows 8 wont look any more different then windows 7.
How much 7 differ from vista ? very little. And 7 is just a working version of windows vista, nothing else (yet somehow does not like vista drivers LOL)
Am sure W8 will be a W7 with fixed issues such as aero capability and other minor issues that can be fixed by service pack but no they wanna make same thing with fixed issues and sell it as if its new.

But i know one thing for sure (according you my friend "Bing.com lead programmer") Windows 7 was built to work and not to have any service packs ever (not including minor updates such as security updates and such)

This one doesn't look much different from 7. I 'd prefer more skins for 8, not just themes like in 7. : )

    yeah skins would be cool
Whole shell needs work if u ask me.
ubuntu shell is so much better even windows XP shell was better/faster so why not make 2 or 3 to chose from ? wouldnt that be awesome to chose shell you want ?
As for SP1 for W7...so much for SP1 2 updates that have no functionality effect on OS.
There are problems that needs to be fixed and remote connection is not one of them.
For god's sake sometimes selected windows wont go to foreground. i'd try to deselect it and select it back but nothing until i select another window and then select it back, only then it becomes selected.
Plus this whole icon invisible selection area jjst making it difficult to place a file between files like i could in XP yet space betwen icons is double the space from XP.
    See following image

Next image shows how icons and whole folder view should look like but am sure its never gonna be like that no matter how much efficient it might be.
Or even better, selected object could animate.

Point is, new windows starting from XP giving you less and less and less workign space and making it more and more dificult to place file where u want them to be.
Sort order changes such as this new date sorting issue: why the hell 5 is greater then 11 ? i understand 5 is greater then 1 but this is so stupid.
God i hope those will be fixed in windows 7, otherwise i will not buy windows anymore but download cracked version instead. I mean its crap anyway so why pay for it when i can get it free (crap is free isnt it ?)

Well don't forget, I know some people who are blind and deaf, they also use the computer as well too. I think I would suggest those options to be there too, such as make font and other things size larger, and able to show videos on how to use things (like would you be able to find a good one on youtube?) for these people and newbies.

Wow - That was a good video Psychlone, maybe MS should hire him to design the UI...

I think Windows needs UI recoded like that video because we're in the 21st century... although the start menu was modified in Vista/7; it still resembles that of XP and 9x versions.
I really don't expect Microsoft to do a drastic change from Win7 to 8; but if they're going to re-design the UI - they might as well re-design the whole kernel [see my post in the Wish List]

Apple is only winning people over with their scare-ware tactics on TV and flashy UI... I crashed a Mac in three seconds at Bestbuy with about 20 people watching, one person buying one went "never mind" and walked over to a Toshiba with Win7.

If MS changed the UI in Win8 to kill anything OSX has to offer; its a massive WINdows.

totaly agree. windows needs new UI and not same tweaked 9x version.
Everything must be optional and i mean everything starting from which side to display navigation or what to display in navigation, computer only or other components as well ?
How about show/Hide menu ? no not that menu that is hidden by default, but the one that is shown by default. Some might find default menu more user friendly, but those who know exactly where things are could use old classic menus instead of new one.

Optional is all that matters. hardcoded UI sucked all the time, thats why linux didnt do it and thats why MAC didnt do it allowing users to write skins and customize UI easier.
    Also whole desktop engine sucks.
Desktop windows manager running process takes up to 13MB on 64bit OS, i wonder why Linux compiz with all 3d windows and ton of effects uses less resources then windows plain 2 colored ugly AERO that is capable with next to nothing ?
Its time to replace UI engine with open GL or even DirectX for sick effects that will be possible.
