Had a similar problem Mike, with email links wanting to open in IE10
First try to launch "Default Programs" from the control panel
Select Chrome and Choose defaults for this program, select all.
If that doesn't work then same place but choose Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
Scroll and look for file extensions that may still be associated with IE. Select->Change Program.
