This is going to be an Adventure!!!

    Hi

Well I finally got video to work.

Now the fun starts, I booted it up went through the setup and rebooted.
It loaded directly into Windows 8 with no menu.

I got to the screen with the time shown in the lower left and it just sat there.
I thought well it's frozen up.

I went and got coffee and came back still sitting at the screen.
I clicked on it and the bottom of the screen moved up and then back down.
    What's going on?

I clicked it again, same thing, finally I grabbed the damned thing and pushed it up revealing the log in screen, it made me use a password, something I never do.

Finally I got to the screen with all the icons.

I clicked on Mail and it opened my Live Mail account the only one it would let me enter at the set up stage.

Great how do I add the account that I actually use?

Never did figure that out, but I installed Thunderbird and it works fine.
I'll have to export me address book etc. from Windows 7.

Next I installed EasyBCD so that I could activate the boot menu.
I did and put Windows 7 as the default OS but it still boot into Windows 8, if left alone but it does give me the menu.

I'll try changing it in Windows 7 and see if that makes a difference.

So far I've installed EasyBCD, Thunderbird, Malwarebytes, Skype, Open Office, Rocket Dock, Defraggler, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and Text Aloud.

The only problem I've had is with Text Aloud, it works fine with the default voice but when I try and use my Lucy voice from Acapella I get an error message, I'll contact them about that.

Other then that everything seems to be working, but like I said in the title, "It's going to be an Adventure.

    Mike

    Hi again.

    Just a follow up here.

When I opened EasyBCD in Windows 7, Windows 8 was still set as the Default OS, even though I set it to Windows 7 in Windows 8.
Other changes I made in Windows 8 did stick, like setting the timeout at 20 seconds and activating the boot menu.
