On restart, Windows 8 gives a message "Preparing for Repair" and after few seconds it restarts computer and again the same message and continues to restart.

This SATA was already working smoothly with Windows 7 and Windows 8 RP.

When I detach the HDD Windows 8 starts as usual.

I loaded Gparted Live and it showed all the hard drives as healthy and working. Then I loaded Ubuntu Live (latest). I could copy and move files from and to the hard drives. There is something wrong collaborative between Windows 8, UEFI, and hardware (BIOS) not ready for the market that I can't sort it out. I hooked SATA cables to many different scenarios, with no result, yet. Should be obliged for any advice.

I have the latest Quicktime installed with no other codecs.
I tried playback in the quicktime player as well as in adobe products (premiere, after effects, etc.).

Here's a preview of what the playback looks like:

The same rotating star video plays fine on my windows XP machine.

Any ideas?

Accidentally deleted windows 8 user account http://windows8forums.com/windows-8-rtm-support/12507-accidentally-deleted-windows-8-user-account.html Fri, 05 Oct 2012 09:41:20 GMT Computer management > Local users and groups > Users. Now I double clicked on the main...]]> Here is what happened.

I went to administrator tools > Computer management > Local users and groups > Users.

Now I double clicked on the main user account. Then I switched to the 'member of' tab. I deleted the things whatever present over there.

Then I restarted the system. Now I can only see Guest account. My main account is not visible there to login.

I have no other account except Guest account. So I logged into the same but I cannot re enable the main account from here. Or I cannot create any new account from here.

But it seems I have the built in administrator account enabled. Screenshot attached. I tried to restore my system. To do so it asked for the password of this administrator password. But I did not set any administrator password.

So I'm stuck here with a Guest account. Please help me.

By the way my main account is not deleted permanently. Screenshot attached for the same.

The same question I posted on some other site: Accidentally deleted windows 8 user account - xda-developers

These bugs in the thread should be able to be duplicated in a clean install environment.

Here's one:

Calender Metro App will occasionally not let you delete a pre-deleted re-occuring set of events from Google Calendar that still exist in the Calendar app for Windows. The program simply goes into the background and does nothing. Too bad standards for .ICS have been expanded without any teamwork on part of the international conglomerates.

Environment: Tested this with VMWare Workstation on a clean install with a Windows Live account using Windows 8 x32 and x64. Tested on existing main system. Simply doesn't work. ]]>

Exe file runs but doesnt show any response. http://windows8forums.com/windows-8-rtm-support/12202-exe-file-runs-but-doesnt-show-any-response.html Sat, 29 Sep 2012 04:47:40 GMT I’m trying to execute the WPSDK-7.1.1-KB2669191-x86 update for the window phone SDK, but whenever I execute it, it shows no response(Window pop up,etc), when running task manager and going to details, I can see the WPSDK-7.1.1-KB2669191-x86’s status is running, but the memory in use is stuck in a single value, yet with no window pop up in order for me to continue the installation and can’t do much, and I can’t erase the file until I end the process at the task manager.
I tried re-downloading yet no success, and also I downloaded the Async-CTP-v3 and it behaves as the SDK update.

Im running Windows 8 Pro.

EDIT: This is how it looks at device Manager, every time I run the program it just stack and get lock in memory usage, yet no response at all, tried to run on CMD, Administrator and with compatibilities over W7 and WXP, yet no change was visible.

EDIT2: I was going to try a game, but when i tried to update it, the update.exe behaves as the before cases, shows on taskmanager as running yet stuck in memory usage, so this is not an error found only in microsoft released products.
