This section provides information on resolved known issues in this release of the AMD Catalyst 12.8 software suite.


Resolved Issues for the Windows 8 Operating System (These issues were found in the Catalyst driver for the Windows 8 Preview)
•Video playback using the Metro video player no longer shows green corruption
•Deus Ex - Human Revolution: Graphics corruption is no longer experienced during in game cinematics with AMD Crossfire functionality enabled
•Battlefield 3: game no longer crashes when AMD Crossfire functionality is enabled
•Need for Speed – The Run: game no longer crashes to the desktop
•Blocky video corruption no longer seen when using VLC
•System no longer hangs when using PowerDVD
•Green video corruption is no longer seen when using various video players

AMD Graphics Drivers & Software

Been having slight issues with this Windows 8 AMD Driver Suite
Jittery scroll, display flickers, disappearing cursor, flash freezes.

Solution;
1. Uninstall Windows 8 AMD Driver Suite, delete AMD folder in C:/, delete ATI folder in programs and reboot.
2. Install AMD Catalyst Display Driver for Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8 64-bit or 32-bit.

Which driver you having issues with Don?

After some investigation it would seem that some users are seeing issues with the 12.8 driver. You can read them for yourself here:

It's not all bad, some like myself find no problems..

A more recent AMD driver has been leaked:

I've been running the driver myself and all seems good although to install under win 8 one needs to disable driver signing.

Another leaked unofficial beta these drivers are only posted to give users options if trouble shooting. Remember these are beta drivers and not an official release.

AMD has released the Catalyst 12.6 Legacy graphics driver for the HD 2000 - 4000 series on Windows 8. However this driver is not WHQL certified and only supports WDDM 1.1, not WDDM 1.2.
