Give Microsoft some credit: No tech topic was more widely debated this year than Windows 8. But the company’s incomplete revelations about this release, coupled with a general veil of silence around its plans, have led to some hand-wringing. I think Microsoft can pull off quite a coup with Windows 8, but only if it makes key changes. Here are some thoughts about what Microsoft can do to avert disaster in 2012.
